BJAI Ganesh Puja 2023
#बीजय #bjai's Ganesh Puja celebration at Vedic Hindu Cultural Centre Ireland - VHCCI in Dublin, Ireland
Members of the Bihar Jharkhand Association of Ireland (BJAI) performed and hosted the 5th day of 10 days of the Lord Ganesh Puja ceremony in the VHCCI temple, in Dublin, Ireland.
The spirit of devotion and community unity echoed at the Hindu mandir as the family members from #BJAI came together to celebrate Ganesh Puja, one of the most revered Hindu festivals. The event was a vibrant and joyous occasion that showcased the rich cultural heritage of Bihar and Jharkhand while fostering a sense of togetherness among the Indian diaspora in Ireland.
Ganesh Puja, also known as Ganesh Chaturthi, is a significant Hindu festival that honors Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed god of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. It is celebrated with great fervor in various parts of India and by Indian communities worldwide.
The event commenced with the BJAI children chanting slokas and then everyone joined in worshipping a beautifully adorned idol of Lord Ganesha at a makeshift temple, which was meticulously decorated with flowers, lights, and vibrant colors. Devotees, dressed in traditional attire, gathered in mandir to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha and offer their prayers. The atmosphere was charged with devotion as BJAI members sang beautiful bhajans creating a serene and spiritually uplifting environment. It was a great time for families and friends to bond, celebrate, and strengthen their cultural roots."
The BJAI also organised a sumptuous feast, or 'prasad made by BJAI members,' that featured a wide array of traditional dishes from Bihar and Jharkhand. Attendees were treated to mouthwatering delicacies such as puri, sabji, kadi, rice and the delectable halwa (sweets) that are an integral part of the festivities.
The success of the Ganesh Puja celebration was a testament to the unity and resilience of the Indian diaspora in Ireland. It not only provided an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate their cultural heritage but also served as a bridge to introduce the rich traditions of Bihar and Jharkhand to the people of Ireland.
In the spirit of togetherness and cultural exchange, the Bihar Jharkhand Association of Ireland looks forward to continuing this tradition for years to come, spreading the message of unity, diversity, and devotion.
The BJAI committee expressed their sincere gratitude to all the volunteers and sponsors who helped on the day of the event and during the 4 weeks prior to the event in the planning, and preparations thus making it a roaring success.
Live Puja celebration was also screened to millions at home and abroad through BJAI’s official Facebook page.
