BJAI Ganesh Puja 2023

Back to Events

The Bihar Jharkhand Association of Ireland (BJAI) proudly participated in the Ganesh Puja celebration at the Vedic Hindu Cultural Centre Ireland (VHCCI) in Dublin, Ireland.

As part of the 10-day Lord Ganesh Puja ceremony at the VHCCI temple, BJAI members performed and hosted the 5th day of the puja, bringing together families, children, volunteers, and devotees in a spirit of devotion, unity, and cultural celebration.

Ganesh Puja, also known as Ganesh Chaturthi, is one of the most revered Hindu festivals. It honours Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed deity known as the remover of obstacles and the symbol of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. The festival is celebrated with great devotion across India and by Indian communities around the world.

The celebration began with BJAI children chanting shlokas, followed by prayers and worship by all attendees. A beautifully adorned idol of Lord Ganesha was placed in a specially decorated puja area, surrounded by flowers, lights, and vibrant colours. Devotees dressed in traditional attire gathered at the temple to seek blessings and offer their prayers.

The atmosphere was filled with devotion as BJAI members sang beautiful bhajans, creating a peaceful and spiritually uplifting environment. The event also provided a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to come together, celebrate their faith, and strengthen their cultural roots while living in Ireland.

BJAI also organised a traditional prasad feast, lovingly prepared by BJAI members. Attendees enjoyed a variety of traditional dishes from Bihar and Jharkhand, including puri, sabji, kadhi, rice, and halwa, adding warmth and authenticity to the celebration.

The success of the Ganesh Puja celebration reflected the unity, dedication, and community spirit of the Indian diaspora in Ireland. It not only gave BJAI members an opportunity to celebrate their cultural and spiritual heritage but also helped introduce the rich traditions of Bihar and Jharkhand to the wider community in Ireland.

The celebration was also streamed live through BJAI's official Facebook page, allowing people in Ireland, India, and across the world to join the puja virtually and be part of the occasion.

The BJAI committee extends its sincere gratitude to all volunteers, sponsors, families, and supporters who contributed their time and effort before and during the event. Their commitment and support helped make the celebration a great success.

BJAI looks forward to continuing such traditions in the years ahead, spreading the message of devotion, unity, diversity, and cultural harmony.

BJAI encourages everyone from Bihar and Jharkhand living in Ireland to join the association, strengthen the community, and actively participate in showcasing Indian regional culture, traditions, and values.
