BJAI Volunteers' Visit to Leinster House

Back to Events

On 03 October 2023, a delegation of 12 BJAI volunteers from the Bihar Jharkhand Association of Ireland (BJAI) had the privilege of visiting the historic Leinster House in Dublin.

Led by BJAI President Dr. Deepak Kumar, the group was warmly welcomed by TD James Lawless and Vincent P. Martin for an informative and enriching experience.

During the visit, BJAI volunteers were given a comprehensive tour of Leinster House, where they gained valuable insights into Ireland's rich history, democratic traditions, and parliamentary processes. The visit offered a rare opportunity to explore the important halls and spaces where key decisions have shaped Ireland's journey over the years.

Reflecting on the visit, Dr. Deepak Kumar, President of BJAI, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and educational tour. He shared that the visit deepened the group's understanding of Ireland's vibrant history and democratic system, and thanked TD James Lawless, Vincent P. Martin, and everyone involved for their hospitality.

During the engagement, BJAI members also highlighted key community concerns, including the need for direct flights between Ireland and India and challenges related to visa processes for elderly parents of Indian-Irish citizens.

The delegation was also supported by BJAI Secretary Mr. Rakesh Shekhar and Treasurer Mr. Abhishek Thakur, whose presence added further significance to this cultural and civic exchange.

BJAI extends its sincere appreciation to all those who made this visit possible. The organisation looks forward to continuing to strengthen the bonds of friendship, understanding, and collaboration between the Indian and Irish communities in Ireland.
